Text: La fachada de esta Madrasa Khanqah, fundada por el Sultán de origen circasiano Barquq, está revestida con nichos coronados por estalactitas. Las ventanas superiores tienen arcos ojivales y rejillas de madera.
The facade of this Madrasa Khanqah, founded by Circassian origin Sultan Barquq is paneled with recesses surmounted by stalactites. The upper windows have pointed arches as well as wooden grills.

Text: El complejo funerario y religioso del Sultán Al Ashraf Inal, en el lado oeste de la carretera que atraviesa la Ciudad de los Muertos, tiene en su fachada este una mezquita con un portal con bóveda de crucería y un único minarete unido a la estructura principal por un muro. A la derecha, también unido a la estructura principal sólo un muro, el mausoleo.
The Funerary and Religious Complex of Sultan al-Ashraf Inal on the west side of the road that crosses the City of the Dead, has in its eastern facade of this structure a mosque with a groin-vaulted portal and a single minaret that is connected to the mains structure by a wall.

Text: El sultán Mameluco Qaitbay fue un prolífico mecenas de importantes monumentos. Su reinado fue una era dorada de la talla de piedra, cuando la arquitectura, más que a lo gigantesco, tendía al refinamiento. En especial en las fachadas el mármol jugó un rol destacado en la decoración. El complejo contiene una mezquita con portal con bóveda de crucería trilobulada, una madrasa y el mausoleo del fundador.
Sultan Mamluk Qaytbay was a prolific sponsor of important monuments in Egypt. His reign was was a golden age of stone carving when architecture, rather than being gigantic, tended towards refinement.

Text: Elevándose en la estructura en el lado sudeste hay una magnífica cúpula del mausoleo. Su superficie está adornada con un dibujo de estrellas esculpido con lineas rectas superpuesto sobre otra red esculpida de arabescos ondulantes.
Rising from the structure on the southeast side is a magnificent mausoleum dome. Its surface is adorned with a carved straight-lined star pattern superimposed on another carved network of undulating arabesques.

Text: El complejo funerario de Amir Qurqumas, que se remonta a 1506-07, es contiguo al de Inal al norte. El complejo funerario que incluye una Mezquita del Viernes (congragacional) con servicios de hudur sufí, tiene un trazado muy similar a la mezquita del sultán Qautbay.
The funerary complex of Amir Qurqumas, dating to 1506-07, adjoins that of Inal to the north. The funerary complex, which included a Friday (congregational) mosque with Sufi hudur services, has a layout very similar to that of Sultan Qaytbay's mosque.

Text: La cúpula tiene las mismas proporciones e incluso la misma escala que la del mausoleo de Qaitbay, aunque su adorno geométrico es menos intrincado. Aquí la cúpula tiene rombos esculpidos en la parte inferior y un dibujo en zigzag en la parte superior.
The dome has the same proportions and even the same scale as that of Qaytbay's mausoleum, though of less intricate geometric adornment. Here, the dome has carved lozenges in the lower part and a zigzag pattern on the upper section.

Text: Igual que en la mezquita del sultán Qaitbay, el minarete está a la derecha del portal, con el sabbil-kuttab (fuente pública y escuela) en el lado izquierdo y la cúpula en la esquina sudeste del edificio contigua a la sala de oración planeada como sala formal de recepción.
Like the Sultan Qaytbay's mosque, the minaret is at the right of the portal, with the sabil-kuttab (public drinking fountain and school) on the left side and the dome on the southeast corner of the building adjoining the qa'a-plan prayer hall.

Text: Al-Aqmar (también conocida como la Mezquita Gris) significa "iluminado por la luna". Fue fundada durante el mandato de al-Mustansir, etapa de grandes crisis políticas y espirituales en el régimen Fatimí. Fue la primera mezquita en que la entrada no está en eje con el muro de la qibla y la primera en tener una fachada de piedra decorada.
El-Aqmar (also known as the Gray Mosque), means "The Moonlit". It was It was founded during the caliphate of al-Mustansir, a time of great political and spiritual crises for the Fatimid regime. It was the first mosque with an entrance that is not on an axis with the qibla wall an it was also the first mosque in Cairo to have a decorated stone facade.
