At the end of each year, Düsseldorf's Christmas Market, one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany, casts a spell on Düsseldorf's city centre and turns it into a unique experience for visitors.
The Christmas magic will be individually staged at seven locations simultaneously. In the city centre, artistically designed theme worlds invite visitors on a trip of exploration. Seasonally decorated huts will for four weeks turn the city into a winter's fairy tale for the whole family.
Christmas Market on Marktplatz
Düsseldorf's City Hall will be constituting a magical setting for the Christmas Market on Marktplatz. A Christmas market quarter will stretch across the square at the feet of the statue of mounted Jan Wellem – Düsseldorf’s landmark – with huts that will be modelled in colour and style on the brick building of the renaissance city hall situated at the heart of Düsseldorf's old town. Mulled wine and hot chocolate will invite guests to stay a while and craftsmen and craftswomen working with glass blowers and as wood turners will offer their wares here. And there’s more: the craftsmen and craftswomen will always be happy to demonstrate their skills to interested visitors. While on the square, a lovingly restored almost 100-year old merry-go-round will be the attraction for both young and old. Also, the hand-carved life-sized manger from the Bethlehem is always a major attraction.
Christmas Market on Flinger Straße
Flinger Straße will create the seasonal link between Marktplatz and Heinrich-Heine-Platz. The hut facades will be modelled on Düsseldorf’s old town houses to create a unique harmonious ensemble. The traditional mulled-wine pyramid located on the adjacent Heinrich-Heine-Platz will once again be a striking and popular meeting place.
"Sternchenmarkt" at Stadtbrückchen
The “Sternchenmarkt” (“Little Star Market”) at Stadtbrückchen, idyllically located in the courtyard of Wilhelm-Marx-Haus, is always popular with old and young. Crystals and sparkling stars that break the light into thousands of colours will immerse the courtyard in a mysterious light. A winter landscape to dream in!

Opening times: 17 November to 23 December 2016, daily from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. (Sundays to Thursdays) and to 9.00 p.m. (Fridays and Saturdays). Closed on Sunday, 20 November (Sunday commemorating the dead)!

Pienso igual que tú. Un viaje así debería crear ilusión en la familia, pero bajo estas condiciones es un contínuo estrés con la pregunta "podremos hacer lo que queremos hacer?" Y nunca se sabe ni cuando estás allí porque luego ni sabes cómo será la vuelta a casa.

Hola,
Voy el lunes 13 diciembre a Colonia para estar únicamente en la ciudad hasta el 16 de diciembre.
Alguien puede explicar como está el tema del acceso a los mercadillos? Vamos mi mujer y yo que estamos vacunados y con certificado UE y mi hijo de 6 años.

Sistema 2G en los mercadillos de Colonia: acceso sólo para vacunados y recuperados (Niños de hasta 11 inclusive se libran de estas medidas "porque se hacen pruebas covid regularmente en la escuela", pone en su web oficial).

Nosotros estuvimos el puente.
Todo muy fácil, te piden el certificado al entrar, se lo muestras del móvil por ejemplo y te ponen un sello.
Así ya no te lo piden más, enseñas el sello y ya está. Puede que en tiendas o restaurantes de fuera te lo vuelvan a pedir pero lo muestras y está todo bien.
Los niños nada. Íbamos con mis hijas, una de 12 y a ella tampoco.

Yo regresé ayer se Düsseldorf
Yo salgo del aeropuerto de Bcn , viaje con Vueling, no nos pidieron el certificado COVID al entrar en el
Avión
Llegamos a Düsseldorf y tampoco nos piden nada , no hay apenas controles , por lo menos en l opción de ir al tren S11 que te lleva a la estación central
Mercadillos , están separado y no hay mucha acumulación aunque casi todo o el 85% son puestos de comida y bebida
En algunos te piden el certificado COVID + DNI para acceder en otros no , si te lo pueden pedir al pedir l comida y te dan una pulsera que te sirve para entrar en... read more...
