Text: Bab al-Nasr es la única de las tres puertas principales de El Cairo Antiguo formada por dos torres rectangulares. Las tropas de Bonaparte la utilizaron para protegerse de la población rebelde de El Cairo.
Bab al Nasr is the only one of the three major gates of ancient Cairo composed of two rectangular towers. Bonaparte's troops used it to protect themselves from the rebellious Cairo population.

Text: Los dos minaretes que surgen de las torres pertenecen a la Mezquita de al-Muayyad que está situada justo detrás. Se erigieron sobre la puerta unos 400 años después de su construcción y le dan un aspecto mucho más imponente que las Puertas del Norte.
The two minarets that spring from the towers belong to the Mosque of al-Mu'ayyad, which is located just inside the gate. They were placed atop the gate some 400 years after it was built, and make it seem far mightier than the Northern Gates.

Text: Bab Zuwaila define los límites sur de la ciudad Fatimí. Su nombre procede de al-Zawila, una tribu bereber de una zona en cuyos alrededores estaban acuartelados los soldados fatimíes.
Bab Zuwayla defines the southern limits of the Fatimid City. It is named after the al-Zawila, a Berber tribe whose Fatimid soldiers were quartered nearby.

It is one of the oldest, largest, and best-preserved vessels from antiquity. It was considered as the world's oldest intact ship and a masterpiece of woodcraft that could sail today if put into water.

Text: El barco fue hecho construir casi con certeza por Keops. Fue sellado dentro de una fosa a los pies de la gran pirámide de Giza en torno al 2500 a.d.C.
The ship was almost certainly built for Khufu (King Cheops). It was sealed into a pit at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Giza around 2,500 BC.

Bayt al Suhaymi is the best example of a rich private house dating to seventeenth century Egypt. The house also demonstrates a lot about the art of the period and how people used to live in the Ottoman period. It was restored in 1997.

Most of the spaces within the house were designed around climatic considerations, like the remarkable mashrabeya screens in the house, overlooking the street.

Text: El mercado de Khan el-Khalili, en otra época conocido como el bazar turco, fue construido en 1382 por el Emir Djaharks el-Khalili en el corazón de la ciudad Fatimí. El Khan está delimitado al sur por la calle Al-Azhar y al oeste por el mercado Muski.
The market of Khan el-Khalili, once known as the Turkish bazaar during the Ottoman period was built in 1382 by the Emir Djaharks el-Khalili in the heart of the Fatimid City. The Khan is bordered on the south by al-Azhar Street and on the west by the Muski Market.
